Welcome to the Mac@AOL Blog. My name is Lee Givens and I'm the Product Lead for the Mac and iPhone products at AOL. You can find the latest information on AOL's software development on the Mac and any cool happenings at AOL. The purpose of the blog is to create a feedback loop so we can hear from our loyal AOL Mac users. Managing a blog is a lot of work, so I enlisted support from the whole team...the Mac team is made up of dedicated Macintosh developers, QA engineers and Product folks.

2. Lee, stop worrying about AIM and Facebook, which is concerned mostly with the 18-49 year old group.
More important to me is how AOL Mail functions. It still leaves a lot to be desired!!!! Fix that, why don't you, especially for Mac users!!!

5. ALL my buddies have been deleted and I DIDN'T EVEN CHANGE ANYTHING! I DIDN'T UPGRADE!!!! The old AIM (thru iChat) worked fine yesterday but now my buddies list is BLANK. Started to manually add all my buddies back in and it gives me the error message "The request failed" WTF! So this new AIM no longer works with iChat?

6. Long time listener, first-time caller here...
This is neat. Happy to dig into 2.1 to try and make it an iChat replacement. I have some feedback/questions at first glance.
- How come my unread count appears in the tooltip for Lifestream? It already shows in the tab.
- Why can't I see the presence-state (e.g. Away, Idle) of buddies without hovering over them? (It reduces clutter, but I'm curious if that's why.)
- Why is the Welcome Page on by default for sign-in?
- Why is Flip the default behavior for transitions? (Guess I'd like Slide since it's suggested by the horizontal alignment of the tabs already.)
- Does the window width really need to change when changing transitions? (Seems jarring. I'm glad I can change the behavior in a setting, tho.)
- Why is response-typing visibility off by default?
- When changing my avatar, I don't see the change represented in the top form.
- I expected the camera icon for the "what's happening" form to take webcam pictures instead of launching a form for image uploading. Is there a way to easily take a photo to include in an update?
- Why can I "comment" on tweets in Lifestream? Twitter users most likely expect "reply" as nomenclature.
- Seems like commenting on Facebook may automatically post to Lifestream and Twitter by default if I've added those services. How do I prevent this?
- Pressing the Enter key in the search form for Lifestream doesn't seem to work.
- Why do search results for Lifestream open a browser?
- Video chat?
I love that Application Logging is available to me as a knowledgeable user. That's very neat.
I love the content filtering for Lifestream. (e.g. photos, videos)
Overall, it's a wonderful start. Excited to see more.

7. I would switch to AIM if it did the video conferencing. I also would like to be able to, as mentioned above, be able to see idle away without having to hover. I would also like to see Chax features (plug-in for iChat) like an activity log of logins, gone idle, and logouts.
