We recently updated the AIM for Mac with Beta 3 and a few of our users have reported issues with slow performance, especially those with a very long Facebook Friends list. If you are experiencing periods of slow performance or beach balling, try hiding your Offline Buddies.
To hide Offline Buddies, start with the View menu. Then click Offline Buddies and then Do Not Show. After hiding Offline Buddies your Offline group will be removed and you will no longer see offline users.
If you continue to experience performance issues please contact us from the Help > Feedback menu.

Welcome to the Mac@AOL Blog. My name is Lee Givens and I'm the Product Lead for the Mac and iPhone products at AOL. You can find the latest information on AOL's software development on the Mac and any cool happenings at AOL. The purpose of the blog is to create a feedback loop so we can hear from our loyal AOL Mac users. Managing a blog is a lot of work, so I enlisted support from the whole team...the Mac team is made up of dedicated Macintosh developers, QA engineers and Product folks.

1. I am using AOLdesktop for MAC. Well, I should say TRYING to use it. Whenever I go into chat, within a minute or two, I get messages on the chat screen that there is a problem with the connection and shortly thereafter, I get bumped out of chat (but remain connected to AOLdesktop itself). this happens time and time and time again. It happens if I'm actually posting in the chat room or just reading the chat. IT happens even if I'm in a room by myself or in a full room.
Ive also tried to download the regular AOL for MAC with osx. For some reason, it will not install on my Mackbook Pro.
Any insight into either or both of these problems would be greatly appreciated

4. I am having trouble getting into a room at all. On the rare occasions I do, it's only a few minutes until I'm booted out again, and I can only type a few lines. Ugh.

7. Did anyone even TEST DRIVE this version of AIM for Mac before it was released to the public? I know it's in beta stages, but c'mon! COMMON SENSE PEOPLE!
-Why can't I auto-sort my friends? By status? Alphabetically? By first/last name? NOTHING.
-Why doesn't font stay the same when I set it?
-Why can't I reformat incoming messages?
-Why doesn't resizing the tab column of the IM remember what it was resized to between sessions?
-Why can't I hide Idle friends?
-Why can't I resize my IM window to make it shorter?

8. Just got a new MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard 10.6. They transferred my files etc. at the Apple store. My AOL addresses and Fav Places transferred, but certainly don't look or act like on the old PC. So many questions there. Today I want to know something simple - how do I remove some of the AOL Directory links (eg, Autos, Latino, Popeater, Horoscopes, etc) that I will never use? Also, my Favorite Places link is the most important link, but is at the very bottom of the list. How do I move it up to the top? I can't seem to be able to drag and drop it????
