AIM for Mac 2.0 is now available! We've spent months integrating Send messages to your friends and family instantly. We've gotten a lot of feedback from our AIM for Mac users wanting to get a better idea of what a "Lifestream" really is and how it can help you on a day-to-day basis. What's really cool, we launched AIM Lifestream across our entire product line, from Mac to Mobile (iPhone and Windows Mobile) and to Windows and AIM Express.

Welcome to the Mac@AOL Blog. My name is Lee Givens and I'm the Product Lead for the Mac and iPhone products at AOL. You can find the latest information on AOL's software development on the Mac and any cool happenings at AOL. The purpose of the blog is to create a feedback loop so we can hear from our loyal AOL Mac users. Managing a blog is a lot of work, so I enlisted support from the whole team...the Mac team is made up of dedicated Macintosh developers, QA engineers and Product folks.

1. Hi Lee,
Are there still plans to incorporate A/V into Aim for Mac? I know at one point something said summer as a target, so is there a new target, or is it no longer on the roadmap?

Hey Brad,
Yes, we're still looking into A/V support and since our goal is to provide a great A/V experience, this feature will take a bit to get implemented. I'll keep you posted here on the Mac@AOL blog for more info.
Thanks!

2. I'd like to see an option to turn off Lifestream on the ipod/iphone AIM Client.

Hey Jason,
I'll get your feedback to the team. Right now, if you don't add any social networks to your Lifestream, it's essentially off.
Thanks!

3. AIM for Mac 2.0 crashes constantly on me. I stay signed on while I'm home and when I come back into the room, it's crashed quite often. Sometimes I'll set the Away message before I go out and when I come home, it's crashed. No other applications running. Sometimes if I'm in another application (Safari or iTunes), it will crash then.
I really disappointed. I didn't have this problem with the beta versions.

Hello Brian,
We've fixed a few issues with AIM for Mac in our 2.1 beta. Can you try out AIM for Mac 2.1 Beta 1 (http://beta.aol.com/projects.php?project=aimformac2 )
Let me know if this takes care of the crashing issue.
thanks!
