Attention Safari 4 users!
We have identified an issue for users who have upgraded to Apple's Safari 4.0 browser, which shares the web component with AOL Desktop for Mac. Safari 4 users have reported that images embedded in mail messages are not displaying (see image below), even if you have the preference selected.

Welcome to the Mac@AOL Blog. My name is Lee Givens and I'm the Product Lead for the Mac and iPhone products at AOL. You can find the latest information on AOL's software development on the Mac and any cool happenings at AOL. The purpose of the blog is to create a feedback loop so we can hear from our loyal AOL Mac users. Managing a blog is a lot of work, so I enlisted support from the whole team...the Mac team is made up of dedicated Macintosh developers, QA engineers and Product folks.

84. I don't even use Safari so I don't understand why my email was affected. I also get kicked off of AOL many times a day. Now, I go to do some internet work and the last month and a half of my bookmarks are gone!

87. WebDAV File System Authentication keeps on coming onto my screen.
I sign in my correct name and password yet the screen does not recognize either and keeps
on coming up which is a humongous pain and one I cannot figure out how to stop

88. How do I stop this message about the work-around from popping up every time I sign on. Once or twice is enough. Most such messages have a box you can click to turn them off, but not this one.

89. Your suggested fix did not work for me. When I clicked on Preferences the box that was displayed did not look like the one in your instructions. There is no option saying "Notify me before opening new mail with pictures". I would appreciate your help. For general info I have a new 24" iMac. I have been an AOL customer for years.

90. The fix works on most pictures/sites but not all. I have to go through another browser to see the pictures. Also, the message box keeps popping up even when I am not signed on.

95. How do I get rid of the software update notification to Safari 4 users that explains the workaround for embedded pictures not being visible in mail? I followed the instructions for the workaround and everything is fine, but I still have to keep canceling the software notification message. Thanks.

96. There are so many people wanting to know how to get rid of the pop-up message. There should be a way to get rid of it permanently. Why isn't someone answering this question?

99. This is typical AOL -- bombard us with this notice since early July, several times a day, then walk away and completely ignore us when we complain about your constant interruption with the message.
Really, AOL, can't you do anything right???!! Is anybody listening??
