Attention Safari 4 users!
We have identified an issue for users who have upgraded to Apple's Safari 4.0 browser, which shares the web component with AOL Desktop for Mac. Safari 4 users have reported that images embedded in mail messages are not displaying (see image below), even if you have the preference selected.

Welcome to the Mac@AOL Blog. My name is Lee Givens and I'm the Product Lead for the Mac and iPhone products at AOL. You can find the latest information on AOL's software development on the Mac and any cool happenings at AOL. The purpose of the blog is to create a feedback loop so we can hear from our loyal AOL Mac users. Managing a blog is a lot of work, so I enlisted support from the whole team...the Mac team is made up of dedicated Macintosh developers, QA engineers and Product folks.

23. Thanks, this does fix some of the issues! I spoke with AppleCare 4 weeks ago and they offered reverting back to Safari 3.2.3. Hope the AOL team can get this back 100%--some of us really miss seeing those Adobe files without downloading.

24. Worked fine. Thank you.
Now if you could only show me a way to return the option of pressing the Heart button to create an e-mail forward, I might even learn to love AOL Desktop.

30. Was this also the culprit that changed my e-mail preferences to not saving the mail I read and send? All my e-mail preferences were reset.

31. I was using Safari beta (now nonbeta) so my email loads have been broken for a long time. The "fix" worked for me. Thank you. I was wondering why it took so long to address this. I forgot I was on beta which apparently few people were on. I thought support for AOL Desktop was nil. I couldn't find anything searching for others with this problem. Thank you.

32. Thanks, AOL! I was really worried I'd have to scrap the service altogether. But now I can keep using it due to this workaround.
