Everyday, I spend a good chunk of my morning or late afternoon reviewing comments and sending e-mails directly to our users. I have enlisted the entire team to participate and we are well aware of the issues and feature requests our users want.
Today, I am pleased to announce our next version of AIM for Mac - version 1.5 (Beta 1). As you can see from the screenshot below, you can customize your Buddy Group Row headers (I selected my favorite color combination - Go Terps!) by clicking the colorwheel.

Welcome to the Mac@AOL Blog. My name is Lee Givens and I'm the Product Lead for the Mac and iPhone products at AOL. You can find the latest information on AOL's software development on the Mac and any cool happenings at AOL. The purpose of the blog is to create a feedback loop so we can hear from our loyal AOL Mac users. Managing a blog is a lot of work, so I enlisted support from the whole team...the Mac team is made up of dedicated Macintosh developers, QA engineers and Product folks.

1. Great to see development is moving quickly and features are coming along.
Can you add the following feature requests to the list to be considered?
Sign on Invisible
Change Buddy Icon
Auto-size buddy list window
Current itunes song as status
Audio/Video Chat
Custom Sounds
It'd would also be nice to see some kind of Address Book like in AIM 6 that pulls the info from AOL address book servers..

2. It's great to read about all these developments but I have given up on using the AOl software on my MAC. I have downloaded the newest versions and they work for a day or two. Then I am back to signing on and waiting for hours - literally!!! - for my mailbox to load. I only have about 35 emails in the mailbox but it never finishes loading. I now have to sign on through the Internet to read my AOL. I've had AOL since 1995 and am reluctant to give it up but I am so frustrated....help!By the way, it works just fine on a PC, just not a MAC.

3. Am I correct in thinking that I cannot see SuperBuddy animations nor hear SuperBuddy sounds when using AIM for Mac?
I like the new AIM logging feature for Mac. It performs better than PC windows. Thank you!

4. Version 1.5 (b1) is working well. A weird issue I had in the previous version with making and saving new away messages seems to have been resolved, and IM logging is great! The one thing that I feel AIM is conspicuously lacking is custom buddy icons. Can we expect that feature sometimes soon? Thanks guys!

5. Any idea when we can expect Audio and Video chat?
I know iChat is AIM compatible, and supports AIM video and audio chat. Wouldn't it be great if the AIM client did as well?
