Welcome to the Mac@AOL Blog. My name is Lee Givens and I'm the Product Lead for the Mac and iPhone products at AOL. You can find the latest information on AOL's software development on the Mac and any cool happenings at AOL. The purpose of the blog is to create a feedback loop so we can hear from our loyal AOL Mac users. Managing a blog is a lot of work, so I enlisted support from the whole team...the Mac team is made up of dedicated Macintosh developers, QA engineers and Product folks.

1. People are telling me that my name shows me as "available" all the time, even when I'm totally off line, even with my PC shut off. Any help or advice?

5. Also having problems with picture sharing...someone on a PC couldn't send me pictures in an IM
-------------------------------
Picture sharing in-line with an IM conversation is not implemented in AIM for Mac 1.1. We're working on a new release coming in the near future and we'll publish our updates on the Mac@AOL Blog - Stay Tuned!

8. Also noticed that in preferences under the "General" tab, default AIM client keeps resetting itself to the old version of AIM (4.7), even after I set it to the new AIM for Mac (v1.1). I think that this happens every time I quit 1.1 and reopen it.

9. The way the away messages work is odd and somewhat confusing. Somehow all of my away messages were deleted including the default. I can no longer add an away messages. Now, when I click preferences only a grey blank box shows up. I'll have to deal with this until the new version comes out. Maybe you could go back to the old way of adding away messages by having the box pop up separately from the preferences and being able to create your own title for it.

10. I cannot initiate video chat with another MAC user because I have no camera icon on my Buddy List. They can send e an invite but I can't send them one.
Can't find answer to this anywhere. Please help.

11. I am not able to sign in to AIM 1.1 for Mac. I have downloaded it several times and it states that my user name and password are incorrect. However, I can still log into AIM 4.7 for Mac... any thoughts on why this would occur and how to fix it?
*I have tried to change my password several times and I am still unable to sign in.

14. A few odd little things I've noticed with 1.1- if I select one of the AOL wallpapers under Expressions, it doesn't show up as it does to everyone else on my computer, even if I IM myself- it looks sort of tiled on my AIM window instead of being one large backdrop, and if it's animated, the animations don't work at all on my screen (but seems to appear ok to people I IM). Also, I've noticed that after I've stopped IMing and closed all IM windows, the red circled number on my AIM dock icon usually remains for a long time- sometimes even if I've closed the entire program and opened it up again, the number will still be there.
