We appreciate all the support from our AIM for Mac 1.0 users. Our goal for 2009 is to keep the progress going. We shipped the 1.0 version in December to build the foundation for a new AIM for Mac and we'll continue to build on that base. This week, we released AIM for Mac 1.1 Beta 1 to address some immediate issues reported by our users. In the coming months, we'll be adding new features requested by our users through the blog and AOL Beta Central.
Welcome to the Mac@AOL Blog. My name is Lee Givens and I'm the Product Lead for the Mac and iPhone products at AOL. You can find the latest information on AOL's software development on the Mac and any cool happenings at AOL. The purpose of the blog is to create a feedback loop so we can hear from our loyal AOL Mac users. Managing a blog is a lot of work, so I enlisted support from the whole team...the Mac team is made up of dedicated Macintosh developers, QA engineers and Product folks.

1. I have a Mac running OS X with AOL Desktop 1.2.1 and here is the problem. This is a work computer, which some others use when I am not at my desk. When I am away, I sign off from AOL, but I just found out that if you click the mail button, all of my mail is showing, even though I am signed off!
Is there a way to change this? The whole point of being able to sign on and off is so that my mail has a password on it and can't be read by others, but I can't find a way to do this, and right now anyone who simply opens AOL Desktop can read all my mail. Without a password protection feature, I can't use AOL for email any longer.
Thank you!

2. AOL mac team must make a new ICQ client. Last ICQ client was in 2003.
Or at least add to AIM client: ICQ-search and showing ICQ details for ICQ numbers.

4. Two features that I really would like are custom buddy icons, and the ability to re-format incoming messages. I'm not a fan of "Expressions" and would love to be able to just see a uniform background and font for all of my incoming IMs.
Thanks for bringing AIM back to life though! I never thought we'd see an official client on OS X again.
