I dropped a small hint in my previous post :) The AOL Mac Team has been busy working on new beta updates for our AOL Mac apps. You can now get your hands on AOL Desktop for Mac 1.5 beta 7 at AOL Beta Central. As with previous builds, you'll find the updated AIM (same as the standalone version) and these fixes:
Welcome to the Mac@AOL Blog. My name is Lee Givens and I'm the Product Lead for the Mac products at AOL. You can find the latest information on AOL's software development on the Mac and any cool happenings at AOL. The purpose of the blog is to create a feedback loop so we can hear from our loyal AOL Mac users. Managing a blog is a lot of work, so I enlisted support from the whole team...the Mac team is made up of dedicated Macintosh developers, QA engineers and Product folks.

1. Where do I go to report problems with AOL Desktop 1.2.1?
--------------------------
Hey Ray,
There's a feedback link on the Help menu in AOL Desktop for Mac 1.2.1. That's the best place to report feedback and issues.
thanks..

2. Will this new beta version allow me to take my pfc aol mail files(now transferred to my new macbook on the desktop) and import them/convert to aol mac mail?

3. Insofar as I can tell this app is a piece of crap, I have downlaoded and installed it 3 times. You cannot open any mail from the mailbox. All it says is something about connecting which it never does. (try leaving it on for THREE hours!) Maybe somebody can tell me how to get the "loading" ball to stop spinning and ACTUALLY OPEN a piece of mail?
Glad I still have 10.3.7 on my MacBookPro or AOL would be history!

4. Yeah I just got off the net with the aol "tech" in Bangladesh who was "so sorry but there is nothing I can do but refer it to the technical staff." LOL. So I am the ONLY leopard 10.5.6 user who can't get this to work. Uh huh and pigs fly too. Let's face it, AOL is a Windows ISP now and they don't care about MAC at all.

5. Hi. I just made a complete new move from Windows to Mac a few days ago and I am new to the Mac world. I installed the AOL Desktop 1.5 for Mac. I have asked a few times to Import Favorites but there is always an error. On my new Mac, how can I get access to my Favorite Places which I had on my AOL 9.0VR when I had Windows? Can I download AOL 9.0VR and use it on the Mac Operating System? AOL support could not help me.
Thank you.

6. When replying to or forwarding an email, my signature appears at the very bottom of the email. It should appear just below my response and above the original email. If responding to a very long email, the recipient of the response probably won't see the signature down at the bottom of the email

7. I have a user having exactly the same problem as Larry in post #3.
Larry, have you found a solution? I'm a PC guy, not a Mac guy, and reinstalling made no difference...

8. Lee,
1.5 has been in beta since July I think. Really looking forward to some of those performance improvements. 1.2.1 is driving me crazy but I don't like to mess with beta software. How much longer to release? Thanks.

9. 1. I have a Mac running OS X with AOL Desktop 1.2.1 and here is the problem. This is a work computer, which some others use when I am not at my desk. When I am away, I sign off from AOL, but I just found out that if you click the mail button, all of my mail is showing, even though I am signed off!
Is there a way to change this? The whole point of being able to sign on and off is so that my mail has a password on it and can't be read by others, but I can't find a way to do this, and right now anyone who simply opens AOL Desktop can read all my mail. Without a password protection feature, I can't use AOL for email any longer.
Thank you!
