Every morning, I spend a good chunk of my time reviewing user feedback. We have a feedback link in AOL Desktop for Mac and the Mac@AOL Blog will allow you to leave comments. I also review user feedback with our developers and AOL management team so we can get those issues addressed.
One comment has been bubbling up to the top - Spell Check.
Automatic Spell Check
We've added automatic spell check, where you will see a red squiggly line that indicates that you need to check spelling on a word.
On Demand Spell Check
If you'd like to control spell check, you can press COMMAND + SHIFT + ; (semicolon) to bring up the spelling and grammar check dialog box.
You can also select Spell Check from the Edit Menu Item.
From the Spelling Menu Item, you can select Check Spelling or Check Spelling as You Type. In a future release of AOL Desktop for Mac, we will be make spell check easier to find, right on the Mail compose window. The AOL Mac Team values your comments and we are definitely listening!
thanks...

AOL Mac Product Lead
Welcome to the Mac@AOL Blog. My name is Lee Givens and I'm the Product Lead for the Mac and iPhone products at AOL. You can find the latest information on AOL's software development on the Mac and any cool happenings at AOL. The purpose of the blog is to create a feedback loop so we can hear from our loyal AOL Mac users. Managing a blog is a lot of work, so I enlisted support from the whole team...the Mac team is made up of dedicated Macintosh developers, QA engineers and Product folks.

1. I wish AOL Desktop had a better chat room system than the AIM chat room
Along the lines of that if it ain't broke don't fix it. I liked AOL Classic's chat room system just fine. If you have to create a new system make it more like the old one.
I'd also like to see more categories including religious chat rooms, for different religions.

2. Hi, AOL seems to be working fine except for 1 thing, recently my outbox shows that there is one message in the left hand part of the screen where all the mailboxes are, however when I click on my outbox I cannot see any messages...I have tried several times to restart AOL and my computer..however cannot find the message...where do I look for outbox messages outside of the AOL browser...?
Thanks in advance,
Jim
