It's a nice sunny day here in Northern Virginia (with just a few clouds) and with the nice weather (not to mention some late night bug hunting and fixing!) the AOL Mac Team is pleased to release AOL Desktop for Mac Beta 16. You can find your very own copy at AOL Beta Central. Please make sure you understand requirements for beta (don't put any important mail in a mail archive and please wait until the final version is released before making it part of your mission critical home or business process). You can get more information on the beta process by reading Beta 101 on AOL Beta Central.
Here's what's fixed in Beta 16:
Welcome to the Mac@AOL Blog. My name is Lee Givens and I'm the Product Lead for the Mac products at AOL. You can find the latest information on AOL's software development on the Mac and any cool happenings at AOL. The purpose of the blog is to create a feedback loop so we can hear from our loyal AOL Mac users. Managing a blog is a lot of work, so I enlisted support from the whole team...the Mac team is made up of dedicated Macintosh developers, QA engineers and Product folks.

1. Couple of things I've noticed while using this (first time was this morning). These could be known issues, but didn't see them identified anywhere:
1) Inability to search email by anything other than sender (regular MAC mail client allows for sender and subject)
2) Browser changes (new homepage for eg) dont' save upon shutdown/restart
3) Mail view changes don't save upon restart. In addition, no ability to create a smart mailbox like you can w/ the regular MAC mail client. If you want to view your mail like most AOLers are used to (New/Old) it takes a few clicks to get your mail in an order of unread/read. Even then it's a combined mailbox.
4) When clicking on the "mail" button on the homepage of the welcome screen it brings up the mail 'client', not webmail. Is this by design?
Excited about using this product on the MAC, having mail/IM altogether. Just curious if the above items will/are being addressed or whether they're considered issues at all? In addition, what's the estimated 'prod' launch date?

2. HELP>>>>>how do you make the fonts in "writing and reading mail" larger. Also, same goes for AIM fonts. I need to make them permantly large, not every time I write or read mail. And the same for AIM. This is regarding the new Aol desktop for Macs.
Thanks,
