My name is Scott and I'm a QA engineer on the Mac Team at AOL. The first Mac I owned was an early 400 MHz PowerMac G4. As a hobbyist photographer I get a lot of use from the AOL Pictures for Mac client. The AOL Pictures website's support for Mac browsers has improved dramatically over the last year but the experience is still optimized for Internet Explorer due to its extensive use of Active X plugins. This is where AOL Pictures for Mac helps to level the playing field. Among other things, AOL Pictures for Mac gives you the power to select multiple photos at once to upload, take your favorite photos and set them as your desktop, or make them into a screensaver with the click of a toolbar button.

Welcome to the Mac@AOL Blog. My name is Lee Givens and I'm the Product Lead for the Mac and iPhone products at AOL. You can find the latest information on AOL's software development on the Mac and any cool happenings at AOL. The purpose of the blog is to create a feedback loop so we can hear from our loyal AOL Mac users. Managing a blog is a lot of work, so I enlisted support from the whole team...the Mac team is made up of dedicated Macintosh developers, QA engineers and Product folks.

1. I'm patiently waiting for an update for AOL Pictures for Mac that is compatible with iPhoto 08. Any idea when we might see it?

3. I find that AOL's AIM for mac, Sucks. I have to use ADIUM. AOL update it. Stop spending time on a box in the closet. Just Update the AIM for Mac. You have to many updates for the other OS'es [Windows]. You can do so much more and what are you doing. Adding on to iPhoto. I have a blog about this go to http://pointofathoughtofaday.blogspot.com/ to see it. I no one does anyway.

4. I agree. Just update AIM for the Mac. That's really all anyone uses. I bet 99.9% of people only use AIM... not photos, or desktop, or radio. Please give us a new client version. There are still a lot of features that 4.7 has that other clients don't. Either update, or at least stop avoiding the issue and post a blog entry saying "Listen, there will never be a new AIM client for the Mac"... although $10.00 says AOL avoids this comment also

5. I, for one, appreciate this little app. Makes managing my photos for online viewing a little easier. I've waited and waited for a free plugin like this for Flickr, and there just ain't one out there yet. Hope you guys don't let the negative comments put you off further development.

6. PLEASE update AOL for MAC. I'm tired of getting kicked off all the time. When I have something other than e-mail, I have to use Safari or something else.
